  • Class 2 NI payment allocated to NI record using the wrong class: How to get this corrected?

I have lived and worked abroad since 1999, am eligible to make Class 2 contributions, and recently made a lump sum payment to make up my NI record in full for all years from 2006 onwards. This payment has now been applied to my record but the basis used was (seemingly) Class 3 rather than Class 2, meaning that the wrong (number of) years has been filled and at the wrong cost. How do I get this corrected? I am definitely eligible to pay Class 2 contributions. I submitted form CF83 in 2022 and received confirmation of eligibility (plus a schedule showing the amounts to pay for incomplete years) in 2023. The issue is that this eligibility was not taken into account when my payment for the missing years was applied to my record.
