Which certificate for proving payment of NI when working remotely for foreign company?
I am about to start working for a German company remotely from the UK. I am a UK citizen. I will be paying German income tax but not German social security and instead I will be paying National Insurance in the UK. My employer has asked me to provide a certificate proving that I will be paying this. After an initial search online I though that the form (CA8421) - Apply for a certificate to confirm you pay UK National Insurance when working in 2 or more countries - would be the correct form, however I won’t be working in 2 countries. I will just be working in 1 country (the UK) but for a German employer. Can you advise which form I will need to use for my circumstances? Thanks. -
RE: Working for German company
Anyone have any ideas? -
Working for German company
I am about to start working for a German company. I will be going out to Germany to work for an initial two months before returning to the UK to work remotely. I am a UK citizen, have a house in the UK and my family will be remaining in the UK over the initial two month period. My question is with regards to income tax. Can I receive my income from my German employer as a gross amount and then I will submit a self assessment in the UK where that income will be taxed in the UK or do I have to pay German taxes on the income? If I can pay UK tax on the income can this start when I begin my employment in Germany {for two months} or can this only be when I am working remotely from the UK?
