  • Non resident of UK selling services to Uk based clients

Hi, If a non-resident of the UK is self employed and offers services to a UK based client, must they be VAT registered in the UK despite being registered for the equivalent in the resident country I.e. IVA in Spain? If so, is there any way to set off the VAT paid in the UK against the equivalent paid in the country of residence similar to the DTA for income tax?
  • Non UK resident with state pension

Hi, I need to know if, as a non UK resident in Spain, with a UK state pension, do you need to declare a UK state pension on the UK tax return. Have not lived in the UK since 2018 and receive UK state pension and Government pension. The government pension I am aware needs to be declared on the UK tax return as it will always be taxable in the UK. I just want to know if the tax return should show the state pension or it should be left blank for a non UK resident.
  • Uk non -resident with income source both inside and outside the Uk

Hi, I am a non-resident of the UK and have income from UK clients, along with income generated in the country I reside in. I need to know if I should be declaring my foreign income on my UK self assessment, along with the UK income. Do I add it to the foreign income pages? Tax is paid in Spain (the country I live in) on both my UK income and Spanish income. Also, as I use tax software there is an option for DTA, should I be checking this box so I'm not charge twice on the income?
