Ooh, I thought that was what I was actually doing here. Oh well, I'll do that then. Thanks. -
Confirming Retirement For A Polish-Born Ex Employee
Hello, I have a moderately complicated problem that I hope somebody can advise on. My brother had a Polish-born worker living on the agricultural site that he ran. My brother recently died, and had stated that the worker should be allowed to stay on the site for the rest of his days – a site that my brother has passed down to me in his will. I am willing to do that, but the Polish worker would like to retire. Firstly, do we need to notify HMRC of his retirement? And if we do, how should we go about it? He is aged 74, and his English is not great, so my brother did most of his paperwork for him. As it stands he has no idea how to progress with this matter, so we don't know quite what we need to do to confirm his retirement. We're helping him where we can, but we don't know where to ask. Secondly, he tells us that in order to receive his Polish pension, he needs to provide proof that he has retired in the UK. Do you happen to know what by way of paperwork or acknowledgement we need in able for him to be able to claim his Polish pension? Many thanks.
