Inheritance tax and wedding gifts
My daughter is getting married in May 2025. I wish to take advantage of the inheritance tax exemption of £5000 for wedding gifts to a child. Can I transfer this money to her in the current tax year, or do I have to wait for the 2025/26 tax year, as this is the year in which she is getting married?
