Tax on gifts of cash from overseas
I am non-resident and have been working overseas for 20 + years. I would like to make substantial cash gifts to my grandchildren from overseas. Will there be any tax implications for them ? I understand if they earn interest from this, then the interest may be taxable depending on their circumstances. If I return to the UK and die within 7 years, will these gifts become part of my estate and be liable to Inheritance tax ?
