  • Tax on interest income as Exempt individual

Hi all, I work for an international organization in the UK. Pursuant the terms of the Agreement establishing the headquarters of my organization, employees and their dependents are exempt from immigration restrictions and alien registration and from immigration formalities for the purposes of immigration control. Accordingly, I also do not pay income tax on income earned in my role. Do I pay tax on interest income on my savings, and if so, what rate do I pay it as? I.e. would I be considered a non-taxpayer and therefore only pay the starting rate, 0% tax on savings interest of up to £5,000? Thank you.
