  • RE: Student Finance - Pension deductions

Thank you. Yes we have reviewed all of the guidance which we can see confirms that our private pension contributions should be deducted from income for the purposes of determining “residual income”. Unfortunately the entitlement calculations do not appear to have reflected our pension contributions (we have provided all of the relevant evidence requested), and as such our daughter’s loan amount is significantly less than the amount expected (which we believe should be the full entitlement). Appreciate your help on how we can get this reviewed and remedied. Thank you
  • Student Finance - Pension deductions

Our daughter's application for student finance maintenance loan has been calculated without making any deduction for my personal pension contributions (i.e. private contributions, not through employment). Initially neither my not my wife's pension contributions were assessed or deducted, although after 8 weeks my wife's contributions now appear to have been taken into account. Can someone advise as to how best to resolve please? The entitlement amount currently showing is significantly less than what my daughter should be entitled to (she should receive the full amount based on our residual income). Thank you
