Redundancy Pension Diversion - PILON
Is it possible to divert money from a redundancy payment into my workplace DC pension? Is there a different between doing this from PILON or the ex-gratia payment itself? I believe the ex-gratia payment beyond 30k does not attract NI. So presumably it's better to divert from PILON. Is there anything else to be aware of here? For example a rule that reduces the 30k tax free part. https://techzone.abrdn.com/anon/public/pensions/tax-and-redundancy -
Pension Allowance - limits and dates
Hello HMRC and all. I'm close to a pension allowance boundary. I salary sacrifice into my workplace group pension and work delays the actual deposit into my pension by about 6 weeks. Which date should I be using when I'm adding up the pension deposits for the tax year? Is it the date the payroll runs, or the date it appears in the pension? Thanks!
