  • HMRC mobile app name

Hello! When I log into HMRC mobile app my name which is shown on top of the app on the Homescreen contains a patronym (I moved to the UK 11 years ago from a country where patronyms are used), but when I go to HMRC profile and settings my name does not contain a patronym and looks like it does on my UK passport. Also when I check my NI on my PC/paper copy/mobile app it does have a name with patronym on it, so as far as I understand it is my NI record which does have my name with patronym. What should I do to resolve that issue? When I go to online name change form there are no such options/no custom message fields where I could have described the issue more explicitly. Thanks.
  • HMRC app and HMRC page names are different

Hello! My HMRC mobile app and my HMRC webpage names are different somehow. When I log into the mobile app my name (the one which at the very top of the screen) contains my patronym - when I moved to the UK ages ago I had registered myself for NIN with my foreign passport hence the patronym, and when I receive any letter via post from HMRC it is the same story - there is a patronym in my name on the letter. My NI letter also has my name written with patronym. However when I log into the HMRC website and check the name there, or attempt to change my name, I am shown that my name do not have a patronym in it. My first and last names have stayed exactly the same aftter I aquired UK citizenship, so I just want the patronym to be removed from my HMRC records. What am I supposed to do? When I attempt to change my name on HMRC website it already shows me my name without my patronym? Thank you.
  • RE: Selling an inherited property abroad

Sorry, I am not sure what do I do now in regard to my question above? Thanks!
  • RE: Selling an inherited property abroad

Thanks! We sold the property on the 25th of April this year, which is past the financial year. I have already filed my Self-Assessment for 23/24. Yesterday I have reported my CGT from this deal via CGT real time report. Question: Do I need to amend my Self Assessment for 23/24 and report it there as well and/or do I need to mention this CGT in 24/25 future Self Assessment or I don’t need to do anything after reporting it via CGT real time transaction? Thanks in advance!
  • Selling an inherited property abroad

Good evening! Me and my brother inhertired a property in 2017 from our mother. I lived in that property about 12 years ago and at that time it was my main homeplace. We have sold it just recently and my share is 50%. I am not sure what tax do I pay? Is it a CGT? If yes, I am currently moving my money from my own bank acc abroad, however the country I am moving the funds from has SWIFT transactions limitations per month, so I am not able to move the whole sum in one month - do I have to pay tax instantly right now (I have first part of funds in UK already) or I can wait until the whole sum is here and pay then? Also I am not sure but, in 2019 I had spent quite a significant amount of money to renovate the place - can this qualify as a tax relief? I have a stamped paper from an estate agency which were selling the property, which confirming the market price of the property in 2017 (the year we have inherited it), also confirming the renovation price and the price after renovation. Thanks in advance!
