  • State pension deductions due to COPE and being contracted out.

This has puzzled many of us at work. Particularly those who have worked there for say 35+ years. If we go to GOV.UK, ( the state pension forecast part ), we can see that we're due the maximum state pension when we reach state pension age. But, our DB company pensions went into deferral around 2011 ( a company redesign of our employee benefits ). And therein lies what confuses us. When we were in the DB plans, we were 'contracted out'. The GOV.UK state pension forecast site mentions a COPE 'penalty' for most of us oldies. Mine is circa £70 week. Does that get deducted from our state pension when we become eligable for it ?.
