  • Uniform Flat Rate Expenses - query re. job type

    Before retirement, I received the £80 uniform flat rate expense as a uniformed, operational fire officer. After a few months of retirement, I've been re-employed as a fire safety auditing officer - this is a non-operational, support staff role on different terms and conditions. I have been provided with a new uniform (albeit it is not the same uniform as I used to wear). My question - am I still entitled to the £80 flat rate expense? The list of qualifying jobs only mentions uniformed firefighters and fire officers. I'm not sure if a fire safety auditing officer qualifies. Thanks.
