  • Declare Director of the company when not receiving any salary, benefits or dividens?

I am currently preparing my personal self-assessment for the 2023/2024 tax period. Historically, I have completed my self-assessments while employed by an organization. However, I find myself in a situation where I am uncertain about whether I need to declare my self-employment as a company director, given that I have established a new property company during this tax period. During this time, I have been both an employee and self-employed, fulfilling my role as a director of my own company. It is important to note that I did not draw any salary, dividends, or benefits from the property company. Therefore, as I navigate the self-assessment process, I seek clarification on whether I should report my self-employment as a company director in the 'tailor my return' section at the beginning of the self-assessment. Your guidance on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
