RE: Using losses carried forward
Thanks. Must I pay a penalty for "file a return for 21/22" because I missed the deadline? Or is it a "a reasonable excuse" that I did not "file the return" because my total turnover was 363£ (less than 1000£) in 21/22? -
Losses carried forward
Hi there, I started my on line sale a sole trader on Oct 2021. I did not registered Self Assessment tax return as sole-trader because I my turnover was 323£ (less than 1000£) in 2021-2022 tax year. My loss in 2021-2022 tax year was around 1564£. Recently I registered for Self Assessment tax return as sole trader to pay my tax for 2022-2023 tax year. My turnover in 2022-2023 tax year is a bit above 1000£. Can I carry over my loss equal to 1241£ (1564£-323£) to 2022-2023 tax year? Please pay attention I cannot amend 2021-2022 tax year because I did not register for Self Assessment tax return for that year. Best regards -
RE: Using losses carried forward
Hi there, I started my on line sale a sole trader on Oct 2021. However, I did not create Self Assessment tax return (did not report) because I my turnover was less than 1000£ in 2021-2022 tax year. Recently I registered for Self Assessment tax return as sole trader to pay my tax for 2022-2023 tax year. However, my loss in 2021-2022 tax year was around 1564£ and my turnover was 363£. My turnover in 2022-2023 tax year is above 1000£. Can I claim my previous loss or in other words can I carry over my 2021-2022 loss to 2022-2023 tax year? Please pay attention I cannot amend my 2021-2022 tax year because I did not register for Self Assessment tax return for that year?
