  • RE: Double Taxation temp. contract Ghana

Thank you but you have not answered the question regarding proof of income and wading through the pages it is really about as clear as mud. Do I need to provide proof via a payslip if one is provided or a letter or something for the amount of tax paid or are you able to check with the relevant authorities in that country anyway if you need to? Also I will be paid a lump sum of 10000 USD for expenses/living costs. Do I need to declare this in the UK as it is not taxable in Ghana as far as I know or can any residue just be transferred to the UK without reporting? If I do need to report it, where do I need to report it and do I need to provide any receipts for expenditure?
  • Double Taxation temp. contract Ghana

I will soon be working in Ghana for 2 months on a temp. contract, paid & taxed in Ghana. I am retired & now only pay tax on my pension in the UK, how do I report my overseas income to avoid being taxed twice on it & do I need to provide any sort of proof of the income & tax paid in Ghana or just use the figures shown on my payslip? I do not know if Ghana provide a similar document to a UK P45 when leaving employment. I know there is a double taxation agreement between the UK & Ghana.
