  • Self Assessment Letter

I submitted a SA tax return for the 21/22 in April 2022. I've just received a letter from HMRC which states "the last self assessment tax return you'll need to complete is for the year ended 5 April 2022. I don't know how to interpret this. Is it saying that the SA which I have already submitted for 21/22 is the last that I'll need to submit, in which case there is nothing for me to do, or is it saying that I need to take action to submit an SA for 21/22 despite having already submitted one. It's very difficult to obtain clarification because the telephone number states it is only for use of people with special needs.
  • Pension allowances

I ceased work in March 2021 and have had no earnings since then, living on savings. In 21/22 and 22/23 I made no use of my allowable £2880 pension contribution. Am I able to open a new SIPP in 23/24 and credit it with subscriptions of 3 x £2880 for 20/21, 21/22 and 23/34? Regards
