  • Benefits in kind question

I work for an SME not headquartered in UK I receive a private health insurance plan when I joined in April 23. Company said they pay the cost in full, although in practice I knew about BIK. The cost was not communicated to me on joining. In august 2024 I received a large drop in pay due to change in tax code. Getting to the bottom of it - the health insurance plan I receive is valued at £12.6k for last year! This was finally communicated to me by p11d which I received on September 10. I am obviously livid with the company, who are sorry for their communication. However I’d like to know if the company have acted illegally in not communicating the cost of benefits until 11 September? Could anyone help. (Currently getting out of the scheme for this year to reduce impact next year) Thanks
