2023-24 tax still not assessed - Overpayment
The HMRC website says that by the end of November 2024, you should have either received a letter telling you that you have overpaid/underpaid or you are to assume you have paid the correct tax. I have worked out that I have overpaid tax on a private pension for that year. I tried using Gov. Gateway to see if I could submit my return myself, but it tells me that the checking by HMRC has still not been done and wouldn't let me get any further. It is now December 2024, WHEN can we expect HMRC to deal with this lengthy backlog?
