Tax relief on Gift Aid
If I'm a higher rate taxpayer earning £51,270 a year, I am paying 40% income tax on £1000 = £400 If I donated £5000 to charity using Giftaid can I claim back £1250 in tax relief or is this capped at £400? Thanks
