I recently received a cheque with income tax refund however my bank won't accept it as it is in my maiden name and I'm recently married and have updated my bank account accordingly. I've told HMRC about change of details but still waiting for them to get back to me. Do I wait till that's done then request a new cheque? Don't really want to spend hours sitting on the phone waiting to get through to someone.
