  • Confusion about Split Year Treatment (box 6 and 10)

Hello! I have some confusions when I'm filling in the SA109 form applying for Split Year Treatment, particularly on Box 6 and Box 10. 1. Box 6 --- I'm a BNOer from Hong Kong; I rented a home in the UK, around 10 days earlier before the time of my arrival. This becomes my only home ever since. For Box 6 'the date of the UK part of the year begins or ends' - shall I key in the date of my arrival, or the date when I signed my tenancy contract? Which of the dates is the *actual* Split Year date? 2. Box 10 --- 'Number of days spent in the UK during 2023-24' - yet according to SA109's note, it explained that: 'If you’re claiming split year treatment, and you’ve put ‘X’ in box 3, the entry in box 10 should only be for days spent in the UK for the overseas part of the year.' - what does it mean? Should I count the total number of days (midnights) from my arrival to 5 Apr 2024, i.e by the end of tax year? If not, what figures shall I key in? Thank you in advance for any kind explanation.
