RE: Capital Gains Tax- transferring shares to an isa
I have and they emailed me and said they need to know if it is HMRC approved. You are the HMRC so you need to let me know if you approve it. Regards Dave -
RE: Capital Gains Tax- transferring shares to an isa
Hi there Fidelity are US based and dont have information on which schemes you ie HMRC approve. As mentioned it is a ESPP employee stock purchase plan. They term thinks differently in the US and i need to know if you approve it. thanks -
Capital Gains Tax- transferring shares to an isa
Hi there I work for a US company and have a stock/share account with fidelity. I read that I can transfer up to £20,000 of employee shares into a stocks and shares Individual Savings Account (ISA) if I have shares in a Save As You Earn (SAYE) scheme or Share Incentive Plan (SIP). I will not have to pay Capital Gains Tax on any gains I make on my shares if I move them to an ISA. I must though transfer my shares to my ISA within 90 days of when I took out your SIP or SAYE shares. In USA they term things differently and the scheme i am on is an ESPP ie employee stock purchase plan. Is this HMRC approved? Is this the UK equivalent of an SAYE or SIP so therefore exempt from capital gains if i transfer the shares within 90 days. Look forward to hearing from you.
