RE: Is inheritance paid into pension liable for tax
Thanks Clive. That is something we have considered, as one time advise rather than ongoing financial management. Need to look into fees. I should add that my wife does not currently have a pension and does not have a regular income, well under tax threshold. So setting up a pension seems a good idea. She has already used some of the money to max her ISA allowance. -
RE: Is inheritance paid into pension liable for tax
The reason for asking is that there are a lot of warnings about 60k limits but i assume that is for tax free payments from salary sacrifice, rather than any lump sum payments coming from other sources? I assumed she would not have to declare the inheritance amount being paid onto the pension? -
Is inheritance paid into pension liable for tax
My wife inherited 400k and wants to pay £300k into a pension. The inheritance was not liable for tax, so is there any tax to pay/declare when she pays this into the pension?
