Hi, I have a rental property in Australia. I am a UK tax resident and complete a self assessment tax return in the UK for my income from this rental property. Last year due to legislation changes, I paid land tax in Victoria (a state of Australia) for the first time on this property. Is this land tax able to be claimed as a deduction against rental income or able to be somehow accounted for under the double taxation treaty? Many thanks for your advice.
