RE: UK-HK Tax Treaty
Hi, I am a UK resident (and tax resident) who in previous years was employed in Hong Kong by a bank. Part of my compensation during my time there was deferred and was only paid to me in subsequent years when I had returned to the UK and had ceased to be employed by that employer. This was subject to Hong Kong income tax. Should it also have been taxable in the UK given that I was fully tax resident there when the deferral sums vested? Thanks
