Tax paid but now being chased for non payment.

We paid our corporation tax in time but have now received a letter requesting payment. We think the payment reference supplied by our accountants may have been incorrect in the last few digits. How do we best sort this out?

If the reference was wrong it goes into a sort of 'holding code'. If you ring HMRC with all the details including amount paid, date, reference, method etc they will look for the payment.
