We (allotments CIC) were given a grant by the Thames Valley Community Fund (part of Thames Valley Police service) to maintain our paths and build two disabled access beds. This feels like a capital not a revenue grant and so not liable for corporation tax. Any opinions? Thank you.

Hi

HMRC cannot provide an opinion on whether your grant income is capital or revenue in nature. This will depend on the facts, and the company will need to self-assess which type of grant it has received.
You can find HMRC guidance on this topic by going to ‘BIM40451’.

Thank you.
