I had a job finished in March but I received the job payment in May. For this income, should it be counted as the previous year income or in the current year?

Hi,

Most individuals who are resident in the UK are taxable on the 'arising basis' and pay tax on their worldwide income and gains in the tax year in which it arises.

Although the work was carried out in the previous tax year, it was paid in the current tax year, so would be taxable in the current tax year.

Thank you.
