My question is about previous years’ capital losses and when they can be offset against gains. I understand about using in-year losses against gains, but are there any rules about when you can use previous losses? In my situation, I have a capital gain which qualifies for BADR, so will be taxed at 10%. I’d like to hold onto losses from a previous year and use these to offset some capital gains in the future which will be subject to considerably higher rates of tax than 10%. Can I do this, or do I have to use them at the first opportunity? Any help appreciated.

Hi
Previous years losses can be carried forward and used when you want to use them.
