Hello, I inherited a property on my mother's death two years ago (probate valuation of £500k). Due to various delays, the property remained empty and was only transferred into my name at the start of 2023. My question is whether I pay CGT on the property based on the probate valuation, or when the property was transferred into my name at the start of the year?

It will be based on the difference from probate value to the value at date of sale.
