As per the title, I assumed this service was for current gains, however I am obviously not in a position to work out the tax I might owe until this tax year has finished, so I'm stuck at the question "How Much CGT do you owe" Thanks Andy

Hi
please take a look at this video tutorial: How do I report and pay Capital Gains Tax on property disposals?

I should have added the capital gain is on share transactions

Just a jog to this question. I have sold some shares that will require CGT. I would like to declare this now whilst the details are fresh in my memory. The real time CG service starts off with You can use the service to report gains on assets you sold during the tax year: 2023 to 2024 2024 to 2025 However as you progress through it mentions £6000 (last year's allowance) and also wants you to calculate how much CGT you owe. I don't understand how I can do that before the end of the tax year. Any help would be much appreciated

Hi,
There should be an option to enter the date of the sale so that it is the correct year and annual allowance.
As this is a 'live' site, we cannot enter it. however, there will also be an option on each page that states get help with this page for you to click on to report any issues.
Thank you.
