Please clarify “establishing, preserving or defending title rights over the asset” My BTL properties were placed with rent receivers following a bankruptcy. After 3 years they were returned to me, however the receivers had incurred fees amounting to £96000 which were added to the mortgage. Are these fees classed as expenses?

Hi,
No, you will still have been the legal owner of the properties so there is no transfer of title. It is only the rental income that you would not be entitled to as part of the bankruptcy.
