Hi, Filling in my paper Tax Return (I live in Australia and not eligible to complete it online). I've Sold my UK property in this tax year and I submitted the CGT Return form at the time of the house sale. It calculated that I have £0 tax to pay. CGT Return Data: Gain on Property (Value sold property (280,000) - cost of property when acquired it (152,000) - all costs( 24,385) = 103,625 Straight-line apportionment method was used and the TOTAL GAIN was calculated at £ 40,715 DEDUCTIONS (Reliefs (PRR =25,088) + brought forward Losses (9,627) + Annual exempt Amount (6,000)) = 40,715 TAXABLE GAIN (Total Gain - Deductions) = £0 I am trying to fill out the CGT Summary sheet for my Tax Return (Residential Property; Boxes 3 - 13). I am unsure what figures to insert into BOXES 5, 6, 7 & 9. Box 4 - Disposal Proceeds = 280,000. (straightforward ) Box 5 - Allowable Costs = 176,385 (cost of property (152,000) + All costs (24,385)) Box 6 - Gains in year, before losses = ? IS this the TOTAL Gains (40,715) or the TAXABLE Gains (£0)???? Box 7 - Losses in the year = ? IS this the Brought forward losses from other years that was used in the DEDUCTIONS of the CGT Return? Box 8 - If your'e making any claim... - PRR (Private Residential Relief) Box 9 - Total Gains or Losses on UK Residential property reported on CGT Property Disposal returns = ? IS this TOTALl (40,715) or TAXABLE Gains (£0)? Is this the same figure as BOX 6? Box 10 - Tax on Gains in box 9 already charged = £0 BOX 11/12/13 all pertain to non-UK property so I have left blank. I presume I do not include the £6,000 Annual Exempt Amount in to the CGT summary form? Is this automatically applied? There is no-where on the form to insert the PRR and the B/f losses? Or am I supposed to include those in Box 5 (Allowable Costs)? There is no-where on the CGT Summary sheet to include the savings from the Straight line apportionment. (Or is this reflected in Box 6?) Thanks you in Advance!!! Susan
