Hi We’d like to nominate our principle private residence as our main home and have the letter written and the address from your website but I have a tax advisor bothering me that unless he handles it for us, we will never know if you accepted our nomination or if the letter even arrived in your office, Is there a way once we’ve written to you with our nomination that we can find out if it has been accepted please? Should I send the letter by Royal Mail special delivery?

Hi,
It is up to you whether you use special delivery services, standard postal service or even the services of a third party, such as an accountant.  
You can contact HMRC on 0300 200 3300 or use our webchat facility at Contact HMRC, to confirm receipt of your letter.  
Please ensure your national insurance number is on your letter.  
If you confirm receipt of your letter, you can be sure that we will update your records to reflect your declaration in due course.
