I received a carried interest payment three years ago (which was deemed an employee related security) and paid capital gains taxes as required. However my fund has now asked me to repay the full amount as part of a 'claw back' arrangement within the fund documentation. Am I able to reclaim the tax paid to HMRC as if not I will be out of pocket by the amount of tax originally paid?

Hi

Yes you can. you will need to send in an amendment to the year concerned and provide evidence of the clawback request.

Thank you
