Crypto Gift from Abroad

Are there any tax implications for receiving cryptocurrency as a gift from a friend abroad? I.e. if a friend sends crypto from overseas to my wallet, do I need to prove where this came from? Or just pay capital gains tax when i convert to GBP? Thankyou

You may want evidence that it is a gift to support any CGT valuations that may occur.
