I sold my main residence in Hong Kong in August 2022. I lived in the property for 10 years, then rented it out for 9 years, and then lived again for 5 months just before the sale. I moved to the UK in May 2023. Now I have become UK resident, is there any capital gains tax to be paid on this sale?

Hi

Yes as you did not live in it for the whole period of ownership. Have a look at guidance here HS283 Private Residence Relief (2023)

and Report and pay your Capital Gains Tax

Thank you
