If we lived in house for 250 weeks, then let it for 500 weeks right up to sale...... Do we assume a third of capital gain negated; but I read that we ignore last 9 months, do we ignore just the letting in last 9 months, or how else do we calculate please?

I understand that the formula is: Main residence time + 9months divided by time owned = percentage exempt from CGT...... please confirm.

Hi,
The final 9 months is only added if you were not living in the property for that period. if you were, it is already included.
Thank you.
