Dear HMRC, I moved to UK with BNO Visa from Hong Kong to UK on 27 Sep 2023 and My husband moved to UK on 20 Nov 2023. We have sold my only main home in Hong Kong at 8 January 2024 with a gain. We had lived there for 23 years for the whole period of time before arrived UK. We have not used a part for business purpose and have not let part of it out. I have read articles about Private Residence Relief - Tax when you sell your home and I did the test "work out tax relief when you sell your home". We are entitled to full of Private Residence Relief. Do I still need report to HMRC and fill SA108 Capital Gains tax parts (No capital gains on other assets) of my tax return. Thank you.
