Hello, I sell goods via online marketplaces and use a courier to export. Do I still need to enter my Eori number if I export from UK to USA / Canada or Japan? I have always entered the Eori number on the commercial invoice but would like to save some time if its not needed. I understand that it is needed for UK to EU, but have read alot of conflicting information online. Thank you!

Hi An EORI number is your UK importer and export registration number. If you are exporting it is only needed on the UK export declaration . It is needed to export out of the UK . It doesn’t matter where you are exporting to. A GB EORI number is of no interest to any other country including the EU. It is not a customs requirement to include your GB EORI on your invoice but couriers encourage it as they then have the number for use on the export declaration. It’s absolutely no use or interest to your customer.

Hi nebula2177,
If business has an GB EORI issued, it should be declared on export declaration. For CDS exports declarations, please see below guidance.
DE 3/2 Exporter Identification Number (Box 2: Consignor/Exporter)
Thank you.
