I am looking at buying a bike in Singapore and then bringing it back to the UK on the same flight I will be travelling on. The bike is likely to cost around £1500 and I realise I will have to pay 20% VAT but how much will the duty be? I can't find a value for any additional taxes I will have to pay.

You should find the information here https://www.gov.uk/bringing-goods-into-uk-personal-use There is also a link to declare your goods and pay duties due on line. This uses a simplified method of duty calculation. You can check this without actually making a declaration.

Hi,
You can use Trade Tariff to look up commodity codes, duty and VAT rates.
