Hello, we need to make a replacement entry for a pre-lodged declaration that was not arrived within 30 days. The problem is that the value is in EUR. Do you know how we should account for the difference in the exchange rates from May (when it was pre-lodged) and July (the replacement entry), so that we have the same figures for duty and VAT. Thank you,

Hi, if ensuring that you are declaring the correct value for customs purposes you would be best, where the invoice is in Euro, to declare in GBP at the applicable HMRC exchange rate and submit in that manner.

Hi, apologies, further to the above, such would only apply if arrived with 10 days. If the goods have arrived in the UK and the import declaration for your goods has an unarrived status on the Customs Declaration Service. This includes when your haulier has boarded without a goods movement reference being checked in by a carrier, for example as a result of HMRC or third-party system downtime or outages. You must tell HMRC within 10 calendar days after your goods were imported. If beyond the 10 calendar days you will need to liaise with HMRC as to making a voluntary declaration, depending on the nature of the goods, you could be liable to a Civil Penalty. A further note, it is the Importers responsibility to notify HMRC of non compliance of hauliers in relation to failing to adhere to the GVMS system.

Convert to the rate of exchange when goods actually arrived, If different to current mo th the. You would need to declare 9wks and keep a “worksheet” for auditing purposes
