Hi HMRC, I recently got a tax refund as I moved to a different country permanently. I received a cheque for the money but the bank I have account in will not accept cheque. Is it possible to return the cheque and get it paid to a different beneficiary account in the UK ?

Re: Five seater double cab pickup benefit in kind taxation. I am an importer of double-cab pickups into the UK. The guidance says this will impact new car registrations from April 2025. Does this mean that imports of such vehicles which have been registered in other countries before April 2025 will not be impacted by this tax change, even if they are imported into the UK after April 2025? Thank you.

Hello, I’m currently working a job (not self employed) but next week start a new job (where I am self employed) I have tried 3 times to get a self assessment so that I can get in return my UTR number, but everytime i receive a email saying that the form is incomplete. All the information is correct and I’ve ticked all the boxes that apply to me

@Dale Fletcher Hi, not a HMRC Admin but the transitional rules aren't based on when the vehicle was first registered as a vehicle but when it was first bought or leased by the employer. Just to be clear, the new rules relate to income tax when a vehicle is made available to an employee by reason of their employment. It is motoring law/the DVLA that require imported vehicles to be registered upon arrival. Motoring law has different rules about classification of vehicles and is not affected by the change to the taxation of double cabs as company cars.

Hi, I submitted a self-assessment form in September that initially quoted me an amount of tax owed. Two weeks after, the amount was doubled. I think I know what the issue is, and I was supposed to have received a letter from HMRC that would tell me how to dispute the amount. This letter never arrived after 6 weeks. I am at present unable to dispute the amount via a phone call, and have no means of accessing the post address where I am supposed to send my dispute given I never got the letter. I need help either in the form of a physical address or a phone number than I can use to discuss this with someone that is qualified to discuss my case. I have spent more than 6 hours on the phone with HMRC, costing me more than 100EUR in phone charges as I am outside of the UK at the moment
