Hello We have re-financed our Buy To Let mortgage during the tax year 2022/2023 due to an end of product. This incurred a broker fee and product fee. Are these allowable expenses along with the interest portion of the mortgage and please advise in which box this information should be entered. Thank you.

Hi Iona02,
You are correct both the Broker fee and Product fees incurred are claimable expenses.
These charges would be included in the “Legal, Management and Other professional fees” box.
The mortgage interest would go into box 44 “Residential Property Finance Costs”.
Please also refer to the SA105 Property Notes pages. UK property notes.
Thank you.

Presumably a mortgage product fees also belong in box 44 since it is "The costs of getting a loan" and subject to basic relief, exactly the same as mortgage interest is. See https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/restricting-finance-cost-relief-for-individual-landlords/restricting-finance-cost-relief-for-individual-landlords Box 27 for the broker fee sounds sensible.
