I receive hundreds of repeated government gateway access code SMS

After I log into my HMRC account, I continue to get repeated SMS access codes sent to me, sometimes for days on end. The access code does not change which suggests this is not repeat logins but rather a software issue your end which sends the same message multiple times. I get roughly 1 message every hour although sometimes it's two messages in quick succession every 2 hours. It was mildly funny for the first day but after the second night of being woken and having to put my phone on silent I'm no longer entertained.

You will need to contact your phone provider for support.
The issue may be caused when the network doesn’t think the message was delivered and keeps retrying.
