The only way to change our company email address on our ASA is by writing in. We have done this 3 times now and it still remains unresolved. Has anyone manage to change details a different way

Further to this, our company address has changed but it doesn't seem possible to change this in the ASA. The Agent Compliance Team inform you to contact the VAT online services helpdesk. After an hour waiting on the phone, I was told to write to the Agent Compliance Team. Having read them the letter from the Agent Compliance Team that instructed me to ring the VAT online services helpdesk, I was put on hold and then the agent hung up. Does anyone have a solution to how to do this?

The agent compliance team wrote back to say that they only have access to Self Assessment and Corporation Tax, and that to change the agent address for VAT, we need to call the VAT online service helpdesk. Please could you advise? I've been getting bounced backwards and forwards between the two for over a year.

I was contacted by HMRC shortly after my post, who resolved my issue. There is a general forum and a tax adviser forum. I'd try posting on the tax adviser one if you haven't already

If the details have changed for an agent who is VAT registered then the agent would need to inform the VAT departnment to advise us so that we have the correct details for the system for that agent. However, this will not change the details on the ASA account.

You should specify that you are only looking to change the details for the ASA account as they may be under the impression that you are trying to change the details which we hold for the agent as a VAT registered entity and that is something the Agent Maintainer Team cannot do.

started my own accountancy practice this year in April and applied to register as a tax I applied for HMRC agent services account with HMRC in August 2nd via a letter to HMRC agent maintenance team. HMRC claims it can take up to 4 weeks for a reply but after 12 weeks, I have heard nothing back. I sent follow up messages on September 27 and October 10 and Oct 26 2024 but still nothing. I have called HMRC help desk several times but I couldn't reach the department on phone. I am frustrated to say the least as I loose clients on daily basis. Our clients are waiting so that we can sort their taxes in a timely manner without incurring penalties. Please I need help regarding this issue
