I have paid class 3 voluntary contributions and my NI record seems to have been updated. However, I haven’t received notification of a change to my pension payments or when I should expect them. Will I receive a letter confirming this? I feel out of pocket at the moment to a not insignificant sum. Thank you.

Hi Petula Bayonne,

For customers over State Pension Age, once a payment is allocated to the NI record, an electronic update is passed to the DWP.  
It is then up to them to ascertain if any change is due to the state pension and take appropriate action.
We are unable to advise how quickly this takes place and you will need to contact the pension services helpline on 0800 731 0394.
They are open from 8.00am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday
