I am trying to confirm my NI contributions in preparation for claiming my pension. I've been living in Australia for 27 years. My Australian passport is the only form of ID I can use to identify myself but it's in my married name which doesn't match my NI number details. I have a Gov Gateway ID and have scanned my passport details in the app. I don't have a personal tax account. How can I proceed?

Hi Anne Burrow,

If you would like to call the Future Pension Centre on +44 191 2183600, they will be able to update your National Insurance account and advise you of your entitlement to a UK State Pension.  They will also be able to advise if you could pay any voluntary contributions to improve your entitlement.

Thank you.
