Filling in Gaps in NI Record from Abroad

I have lived in Germany since 2013 and before that had 9 years worth of contributions in the UK system. In December last year, I phoned HMRC about making a one-off payment to fill in the gap (presumably class 2). I was told to complete form CF83 and send it in by post, which I immediately did. Nearly seven months later I've had no response. What should I do next?
