I was told that I need to pay some years of contributions to fill out the 10 years needed to get state pension. However, I have been told to make sure that paying these contributions will still give me state pension. I reach pension age in a few days and was wondering, can I still pay these contributions after I reach state pension age and will this still give me state pension

Hi
You can still make voluntary payments when over State pension age, however you must contact the Department for Work and pensions.
They will advise you what outcome paying voluntary contributions would give to your state pension.
If you are over state pension age at the time of contact you must call the State Pension Helpline for advice.
If you are under State Pension Age at the time of contact you must call the Future Pension Centre for advice.
